NEXT EVENTS: SUNDAY LECTURES ON APRIL 28 AND JUNE 2

Please join us for our Sunday lecture series in the Gunn Theater of the Legion of Honor, Lincoln Park, San Francisco. The theater opens at 9:45 a.m. for social time, and the programs begin at 10:30 a.m.

SUNDAY, APRIL 28: Shirley M. Mueller, M.D., Associate Professor of Neurology, Emerita, Indiana University School of Medicine; American Ceramic Circle member; scholar and collector of Chinese Export Porcelain, “Inside the Head of a Collector.” The talk will report from Prof. Mueller's extensive publications on the neuropsychology of collecting. For background on her own collections, see her beautiful website, www.shirleymuellerporcelain.com.

SUNDAY, JUNE 2: Colin Knight, distinguished collector and past long-time president of the SFCC, “50 years of acquisitions: the 'Shoestring' ceramics collection of Colin and Patricia Knight.” Pat and Colin Knight have collected in three main areas: 18th-century German porcelain other than Meissen; English porcelain of the later 18th and early 19th centuries; and German Jugendstil and Art Deco porcelain figures. They are models of how to leverage a moderate budget with deep knowledge and canny searching.
